Studentenvakbond LSVb en de jongerenafdeling van de FNV voeren vandaag actie bij het ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken vanwege de hoge huren voor studentenkamers. De studenten zijn gehuld in koeienkostuum om uit te beelden dat ze worden uitgemolken door huisbazen. Ze vragen om de invoering van een huisjesmelkersboete.
Eerder werd al duidelijk dat nog steeds 75% van de huurders te veel betaalt:
De landelijke Studentenvakbond (LSVb) heeft een steekproef onder 5000 studenten gehouden waaruit zou blijken dat bijna acht op de tien studenten te veel huur betaalt op basis van het woningwaarderingsstelsel. Gemiddeld is de huur 106,69 euro per maand te hoog. De actievoerders reiken maandag het ‘Check-je-kamerrapport’ uit aan het ministerie om te wijzen op de moeilijke positie van studenten op de huizenmarkt.
Naast de actie wordt maandag ook een petitie verspreid waarmee ondertekenaars de oproep voor een huisjesmelkersboete kunnen ondersteunen.
